Art and culture

The Museumplein Square with the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Diamond Museum and the Leidseplein Square are a 15-minute walk away. Tram 24 takes you to the center of town, get down at the Dam monument near the Palace. The Madame Tussauds Museum is nearby, as are the Amsterdam Historical Museum, the Nieuwe Kerk Church hosting interesting exhibitions, the Westerkerk Church and the world famous Anne Frank House.

Children

Towards the Central Station you will find a number of fun attractions for children. In NEMO Science Center they will discover interesting things about science and technique. Close to NEMO is the Maritime Museum, where children can see and learn how the Netherlands is shaped by the sea. They are free to roam aboard the Dutch United East India Company ship, “De Amsterdam”, which is docked at the museum. But on a nice day, it is ever so tempting to the visit the nearby Vondelpark with its playgrounds and skate rental.

Parks and Woods

Not too far from the hotel you will find the largest city park: Vondelpark. In summer, the open-air theater hosts free concerts and plays. The urban forest, Amsterdamse Bos, is located at a few kilometers from the hotel. During the summer months, this place offers large theater events and rents out canoes at the canoe pond.
